Wesley Gibson is an archeologist and geographic information systems (GIS) specialist who grew up in central Kansas. He received his Bachelor of General Studies in anthropology and geology from the University of Kansas in 2015 and his Master of Arts in anthropology from Northern Arizona University in 2022. He has more than 14 years of archeological experience, focusing on cultural resource management. Wesley has participated in and supervised archeological surveys, site recording, site excavation, National Register of Historic Places evaluations, and archival research efforts. He has participated in numerous monitoring, survey, and data recovery projects in the Southwest, California, and Great Plains. Currently, he serves as the second vice president of the Kansas Anthropological Association and has been a KAA member since 2004. He currently works for Stantec as the lead for the Southern California Archeological GIS team, supporting the cultural resources program on projects located throughout Southern California. In his spare time, he enjoys overlanding in his 4×4 truck, propagating native prairie plants, and researching archeological predictive modeling techniques.
